KSTP wins Overall Club Champions at NCC 24!
From the 19th till the 22nd of September, KSTP had a team of 37 athletes from age 7-26, competing on the beautiful Gold Coast in QLD at the 2024 National Clubs Carnival (NCC). This is an event held by Gymnastics Australia for all Trampoline, Dmt and Tumbling athletes who are competing at Level 4 or above. NCC is our favourite event of the year. Not only does it allow us to pull athletes together into one team from Level 4 right through to Senior, but the scoring system has an exciting layer to it in that each event has finals, with the top 10 clubs from the qualifying rounds accumulating points in each event towards the overall awards. Overall categories include top male and female in each level, top club in all levels and disciplines as well as the big one, Overall Club Champions.
Our team have been working hard together specifically for the last six weeks in the lead up to NCC however the planning began at the start of the year. A huge focus was placed on execution and finishes. We held controlled mock competitions for 3 weeks prior in the gym where athletes supported and helped each other to do their best and finish their passes. All the attention to detail and focus on routines really showed on the competition floor, with athletes making finals and finishing in the top tier across the board. This really spurred all the athletes on, with each one wanting to step and do their very best for their team. In an individual sport, we love this type of event as it allows us to bring all the team sport values into what we do.
Our teams’ results are straight into our history books, with NCC24 by far being our most successful team and competition ever. Individually our athletes won 8 bronze medals, 15 silver medals and a whopping 30 GOLD medals! Our overall club awards include:
- 3rd place overall- Level 4 club
- 2nd place overall- Level 5 club
- 1st place overall Level 6 club
- 1st place overall Level 7 club
- 1st place overall Elite Levels club
- Trampoline Club- 4th place
- Double Mini Trampoline – 2nd place
- Tumbling Club- 1st place
- Overall Champion Club- 1st place

And that’s a wrap on NCC24 here on the Gold Coast. In a tight race that came right down to the last session, we managed to finish in front on the points tally by just 3 points to take out Overall Champion Club for 2024
We set this goal for our club months ago, probably ever since last years NCC, but there’s always so much talent at this event, so anything can happen on the day.
However, to achieve such success is no fluke. Results like this only come from dedication, unwavering commitment and most of all, TRAINING. Then once in comp, it’s up to the athletes to execute the plan, and that’s exactly what happened this year.
NCC is our favourite event on the Gymnastics calendar by far. The competition structure means you have to work as a team which is what we are all about. Athletes from age 7-26 work and compete together and support each other. This always provides maximum enjoyment and brings out the best in each individual. We are blown away by our team this year and we could not be more proud of everyone. Congratulations to all involved from coaches to parents and of course, athletes. Thank you for being part of NCC24!
